Tara is the central female deity worshipped in Tibet. She has the rank of Boddisattva and blesses and saves those who pray to her. Tara, her Sanskrit name, comes from the root word "Tar," meaning to cross. Tara helps one to cross the Ocean of Existence. Tara is seated on a lotus throne, her right foot resting on a lotus flower. Two lotus flowers are on her shoulders. Her left and right hand are in the form of a mudra (symbolic hand gesture). The left represents argumentation, the right charity and compassion. This personal charm is a mini statue, 1 1/2" tall and 5/8" across the base. It comes with its own carrying bag as shown.
